What you learn in the First Aid Course Zurich
The ASTRA-recognized first aid course covers 10 lessons spread over 2 days – Friday evening (6:00–9:00 pm) and Saturday (8:00 am–4:00 pm). Hands-on, in small groups and with plenty of practice at PH Zürich.
Day 1 – Friday, 6:00–9:00 pm
- ›Chain of survival & how to call for help correctly (emergency number 144)
- ›Self-protection and behaviour at the scene of an accident
- ›Recognizing unconsciousness & the recovery position
- ›Checking breathing and clearing the airways
Day 2 – Saturday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm
- ›Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) & defibrillator (BLS-AED)
- ›Stopping severe bleeding & wound care
- ›Shock, burns & poisoning
- ›Behaviour at traffic accidents & practical exercises
After passing the course you receive your first aid certificate immediately – recognized throughout Switzerland and valid for 6 years. It is a prerequisite for the learner's permit (Cat. B/A) and must be available before registering at the Zurich Road Traffic Office. More details are in our detailed course schedule.
